At Lake Arthur High School, every student seeks the four apples of achievement:  Efficacy, Expectations, Effort, and Engagement.  One cannot seek success without initiative and motivation to be the best.  Our mission is to create students who accept challenges and develop themselves to become a success in their chosen careers and to be able to compete in a global economy.

Lake Arthur High School strives to provide each student in a safe, supportive learning environment with the resources, guidance, and skills necessary to achieve success to become productive citizens in a global society.

Parent Involvement:
When parents and families get involved in education, children benefit. Show your child how important his/her education is to you by participating in the parent activities for student learning.

Advanced Placement (AP):  


AP offerings are rigorous courses designed for the college-bound student.  AP courses are offered through the Edgenuity online course selections.  Upon Completion, students may opt to take the AP exam and earn college credit (depending on the accepting college/university)  There is an exam fee per test.

Dual Credit Program:


Students in 9th through 12th grade can earn credit at the high school and college levels simultaneously.  This program is offered to Lake Arthur students through Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell.  To qualify, students must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and pass the Accuplacer placement exam.

Online Distance Education Courses: 


Students through Edgenuity online courses can take academic elective classes to meet graduation requirements and prepare themselves for the college/university of their choice.

Programs of  Study:  


Programs of Study create secondary to post-secondary sequences of academic and career education coursework leading students to attain a post-secondary degree or industry-recognized certificate or credential.  LAHS works with ENMU-R to create a career paths for Lake Arthur students.  

Systems Go:  


Systems Go is an applied physics program where students problem-solve construct, launch a rocket that must meet aerodynamic and safety requirements.  It is a STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) program.  It is open to all students grades 10-12.

In addition to traditional course offerings, students at LAHS are encouraged to pursue a course of study that prepares him/her for his career interests.
